Why Raw? Well where does one begin with this? Raw food - that is food that has not been heat treated in any way - has such magically transformative effects on both the body and the mind (when the main bulk of cooked food is removed from the diet) that it is almost impossible to explain. It is definitely something that has to be experienced to be fully understood.  There can be many logical explanations for this. One of which is the idea that the food is so easily digested so as not to cause the blockages in the gut that most other foods cause. Just as in yoga an inflexible spine is an inflexible mind, a stagnated colon is a stagnated mind. There are many many possible explanations that Ms Berry has theorised and is currently researching.
Certainly anyone who has experienced a significant time period of eating raw food will tell you that mental limitations gradually and naturally dissipate and leave a freedom to live life from the higher mind & inspiration and not from memory and stored data. Moments of pure bliss and true joy just happen spontaneously and frequently. Problems are easier to overcome. There really isn't enough good that can be said about the benefits of a raw diet.
